I’m Sick and Tired Series is a project about mental illness, protest, and collective sadness.
“Sometimes we are slowed down even stopped by the heaviness of our affections; it is too much. We can be in too much pain to go out and join in a struggle with others. We can be numb.” Sara Ahmed
I’m Sick and Tired is an ongoing investigation about political depression and incomplete projects of liberation such as; feminism, civil rights, and decolonization. It examines historical traumas in everyday felt sensations of our lives. The energy it has taken to survive, endure, resist and have hope against it all.
The project has taken the form of an academic paper, an hour-long performance, and a durational performance. As the enquiry evolves so too will the form; a workshop, participatory, conference, participatory sleepover, online, and public performance.
